This US manufactured DVR is fully configurable which means you can control both the audio and video settings using its keypad and data screen.
Recording onto a high speed CF card this MPEG2 DVR enables you to capture “TV broadcast quality” video at full D1 resolution video- 720x576@25fps up to 8Mbs. Camera set up and video playback is made easy by connecting the DVR direct (using an optional A/V lead) to any external device with a suitable A/V input such as a TV or viewing monitor. Alternatively, you can use the media player on your laptop or PC.
In addition to pure video the Chasecam DVR also has the option, via its built in G sensor, to overlay real time graphical G Force data onto your video. A simple set up on/off menu option allows you to overlay acceleration, braking and lateral G Forces represented as coloured bars direct on your video. All data is shown against a scalable X-Y axis.
The DVR can be configured to activate record in a number of ways, either on power up, connection to a 12v feed, against a pre set G Force trigger point, or from an optional external Lanc trigger switch with a status LED.
Two versions of the Chase DVR are manufactured, both incorporate an intelligent power supply system, this switching system insures that your video recording is never lost due to a power supply failure in the car. The two versions of the PDR100 are:
- Chasecam PDR100AA which takes internal AA Lithium Ion batteries
- Chasecam PDR100SC in which the AA battery compartment is replaced by a number of super capacitors, these rechargeable capacitors will hold a charge for a short period (circa 1-2 secs) so that the important exit code is written to the video file if he main power supply is terminated.
Both versions accept an external 12v power supply from your vehicle or external battery pack.
